How to use Russian keyboard converter
- 1
Paste the ghbdtn text
Paste the message that came out in Latin letters; it is shown in Cyrillic straight away, because this page starts from English to Russian.
- 2
Typed English on Russian?
Paste words like руддщ or цуи as they are: the page sees Cyrillic that reads as English keys and turns them into hello and web.
- 3
Repair a half-wrong message
Turn on “Convert only the words that look wrong” when only the end of a sentence slipped into the other layout.
- 4
Copy it back
Copy the fixed text into your chat, document or e-mail, or save it as a text file.
Limits and Pro
No sign-up and no length limit; a whole chat log of 20,000 characters or more is converted in a background thread.
Pro takes the ads away; the Russian layout fix is already unlimited. See Pro
About Russian keyboard converter
Everyone who writes Russian on a computer knows the moment: three words into a message the screen shows “Ghbdtn? rfr ltkf&” because the system was still on English. This page is set up for exactly that pair. It opens with English (US) as the layout the text was typed on and Russian ЙЦУКЕН as the one you meant, so pasting is all it takes to read “Привет, как дела?” again.
The fix works key by key, not word by word. On the Russian layout the letters х ъ ж э б ю ё live on the keys that type [ ] ; ' , . ` in English, so those characters are converted too: “k.,k.” becomes “люблю”. The Russian comma and full stop sit on the / key, which is why a sentence typed on the wrong layout ends in “/” and asks its questions with “&”.
The reverse is just as common: an English word, a password or a web address typed while Russian was on, such as “руддщ” for hello or “цуи” for web. Paste it and the page notices the Cyrillic and turns it around without any clicks.
Messages that are only partly wrong are what the “Convert only the words that look wrong” switch is for: in “Купи молоко и ,fnjy” only the last word changes. Text typed with Caps Lock on is understood as well, so “B,HFUBV” comes out as “ИБРАГИМ” rather than “ИбРАГИМ”. When a short word could just as well be Ukrainian or Belarusian, this page reads it as Russian; pick another layout in the menu if you meant one of those.
Privacy
Everything happens in this tab: the Russian or English you paste is converted on your device and never uploaded. This page remembers its own text and layout choice in local storage, separately from the other language pages; Clear empties it.
