About Add border to image
A border separates a picture from whatever it sits on: a white page, a dark chat background, a busy social feed. This page draws one around your image without cropping anything. The frame is added outside the photo, so a 1200 × 800 image with a 4% border becomes 1264 × 864 pixels and every original pixel stays visible.
Width is measured as a percentage of the image's shorter side rather than in fixed pixels, so the same setting looks the same on a phone photo and on a small thumbnail, which matters when you frame a batch of pictures with different sizes; the slider shows the pixel value for the current image too. Any colour works, from classic white or black to a brand colour typed as a hex code. Rounded corners curve the frame and the photo inside it together, up to a pill or near-circle shape. The drop shadow adds a soft, slightly offset shade beneath the frame and extends the canvas so the shadow isn't cut off; the area around it can stay transparent, for placing on a website or slide, or be filled with a colour for a flat JPG.
Typical uses are Instagram posts with a white margin, framed screenshots for documentation, product pictures that need to stand out on a white shop page, and a uniform look for a gallery. The frame is a plain solid colour: there are no patterned, wooden or double-line frames here, and the border can't be placed inside the picture to cover its edges.
Privacy
The frame, corners and shadow are drawn on a canvas in your browser tab and the result is encoded on your device. Your images are not uploaded anywhere and nothing about them is kept after you close the page.
