How to use Wheel spinner & random picker
- 1
Add the entries
Type or paste one name or option per line. Put *2 or *5 after a line to make that entry two or five times as likely.
- 2
Customise the slices
Open the Details view to set exact weights, choose a colour for any slice or add a small picture to an entry.
- 3
Spin
Press Spin or the button in the middle of the wheel. The winner is drawn first, then the wheel slows to a stop on it.
- 4
Keep drawing or share
Remove each winner for a draw without repeats, read the results list, or copy a link that rebuilds the same wheel.
Limits and Pro
Free with no sign-up: up to 500 entries of 80 characters, weights from 1 to 100, pictures on up to 50 entries, spin times of 2 to 12 seconds and the last 100 results kept.
About Wheel spinner & random picker
Wheel spinner turns a list into a colourful wheel and picks one entry at random, for classroom cold-calling, choosing who presents first at stand-up, giveaway winners on a stream, chores, team names or simply where to eat tonight.
The result does not depend on the animation. When you press Spin, the browser's cryptographic random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues) draws the winner, using rejection sampling so that no entry gets even a tiny extra edge from rounding. Only then is a final angle chosen inside that entry's slice, away from its edges, and the wheel decelerates onto it like a real wheel under friction, ticking past each peg and settling with a small bounce. With reduced motion turned on in your system settings, the wheel turns briefly instead, without the long spin or the pointer flicks.
Weights work the way the picture suggests: a slice with weight 3 is three times as wide as a slice with weight 1 and wins three times as often. Ticks and the winning chord are generated by the browser's audio engine, so nothing extra is downloaded, and the sound can be muted.
Full screen mode enlarges the wheel for a projector or a stream, and the space bar spins it. The wheel, settings and the last 100 results are remembered in this browser. It is not suitable as an audited draw for regulated lotteries, because nothing is recorded outside your device.
Privacy
The wheel runs entirely in this tab: entries, pictures, settings and results are stored in your browser's local storage and are never uploaded. A share link packs the labels, weights and colours into the part of the address after the # sign, which browsers do not send to any server; anyone you give the link to can read those entries. Pictures are never put into links.
