Random number generator

Pick random numbers in any range, with or without repeats, roll dice or flip a coin, using your browser's cryptographic randomness.

?

Numbers come from your browser's cryptographically secure generator (crypto.getRandomValues) with rejection sampling, so every outcome is equally likely.

Limits and Pro

Free and unlimited: up to 10,000 numbers per draw from ranges as large as ±10^15, 50 dice with up to 1,000 sides, custom lotteries with up to 100 main balls, and a 30-entry history.

About Random number generator

Generate random numbers you can trust, plus four quick modes for everyday decisions. In Numbers mode choose a minimum and maximum, how many values you need — up to 10,000 at a time — whether repeats are allowed, and whole numbers or decimals with up to ten places; the results can be left in draw order or sorted, and copied in one tap. Ranges can be enormous, so picking 5 unique numbers between 1 and a trillion is instant.

Dice rolls any number of d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20 or d100 dice, or a custom die with up to 1,000 sides, with a short tumbling animation and the total. Coin flips a two-sided coin and keeps running statistics — heads and tails counts, the current streak and the longest streak — so it doubles as a probability lesson. Lottery draws unique balls for 6/49-style, Powerball-style, Mega Millions-style, EuroMillions-style, UK Lotto-style or Keno-style games, or a custom format with bonus balls, and states the odds of the jackpot combination. List shuffles names or picks one or several winners for a giveaway, a classroom, a raffle or deciding who buys coffee.

Every result uses the browser's cryptographically secure generator, crypto.getRandomValues, rather than Math.random, and converts its raw 32-bit output into your range with rejection sampling, which throws away the few values that would otherwise make some numbers slightly more likely. That makes the output suitable for fair draws, games and sampling. It is not a certified gaming system, and drawing lottery numbers here cannot improve your chances of winning.

Privacy

Random numbers are produced on your device by the browser's secure generator, and your lists, rolls and flips are never sent to a server. Settings sit in the page link; your list, coin statistics and result history are kept only in this browser's local storage.

Random number generator: frequently asked questions

Are these numbers really random?
They come from crypto.getRandomValues, the browser's cryptographically secure generator, which is seeded by your operating system's entropy and is the same source used for encryption keys. The raw values are mapped to your range with rejection sampling, avoiding the modulo bias that makes simple generators slightly favour low numbers. Results can't be predicted, and nothing is pre-generated or sent from a server.
How do I generate random numbers without repeats?
Turn on No repeats, set the range and how many numbers you need — for example 10 unique numbers from 1 to 100 — and press Generate. Each value can appear only once, like drawing raffle tickets from a hat. You can't ask for more unique numbers than the range holds; a range of 1 to 10 can give at most 10 different numbers.
What are the odds of winning the lottery?
For a 6-from-49 game the jackpot odds are 1 in 13,983,816, because that many six-number combinations exist. A Powerball-style draw of 5 balls from 69 plus 1 from 26 has odds of 1 in 292,201,338, and a EuroMillions-style draw 1 in 139,838,160. Random, birthday-based or 'lucky' picks all have exactly the same chance; random ones just avoid sharing a prize with others.
Is a coin flip really 50/50?
On this page, yes — heads and tails each have a probability of exactly one half. Real coins are very slightly biased: a 2023 study of 350,757 hand flips by Bartoš and colleagues found a coin lands on the same side it started about 50.8% of the time. Streaks of five or six identical results are normal over a few dozen flips.
How do I pick a random winner from a list of names?
Open the List tab, paste or type one name per line, choose how many winners you need and press Pick. Duplicate lines are ignored by default so nobody gets two entries by accident; turn that off if extra entries are intentional. Shuffle list puts everyone in a random order instead — handy for presentation slots, team rotations or a secret-santa draw.
