Thai year converter について

Thai documents, from ID cards and bank books to university transcripts, give years in the Buddhist Era, พุทธศักราช or พ.ศ., while passports, visas and foreign forms ask for the Common Era, ค.ศ. Thailand uses the Gregorian months and days, so converting a modern date only changes the year: add 543 to go from C.E. to B.E., subtract 543 to go back. 21 October 2026 is 21 ตุลาคม พ.ศ. 2569.

Older dates need one more rule, and it is the one most converters get wrong. Until 1940 the Thai year began on 1 April, so January, February and March were still counted in the previous Buddhist year: 15 February 1939 was 2481, not 2482. When the government moved New Year to 1 January from 1941, B.E. 2483 was cut short to nine months, April to December 1940. This converter applies that rule for every date back to April 1888, when Siam adopted its solar calendar, and rejects a January to March date in 2483, which never existed.

Enter a B.E. year, month and day to get the C.E. date and weekday, or switch to Gregorian to go the other way. Each result also shows the date in Thai, with the Thai month name, and in twelve other calendars.

The chart covers every year from B.E. 2484 (1941) to 2643 (2100), with the year in Thai digits and the age a person born in it reaches on their birthday this year, handy for forms that ask for both a birth year and an age.
