Persian date converter について
Iran's official calendar, the Solar Hijri or Shamsi calendar, counts years from the Hijra like the Islamic calendar but follows the sun: each year starts at Nowruz, on the day of the March equinox. Its first six months, Farvardin to Shahrivar, have 31 days, the next five have 30, and Esfand has 29, or 30 in a leap year. That is why a Persian date such as 1 Mehr falls on 22 or 23 September every year, while the Hijri date of the same day moves.
This page converts a Shamsi date to the Gregorian calendar (miladi) and back. Type the year, pick the month by name and choose the day; the result appears in English and in Persian script with Persian digits, ۲۹ مهر ۱۴۰۵ for 21 October 2026, together with the weekday and the lunar Hijri date that Iranian calendars print alongside.
Leap years are not a simple rule of every fourth year. The browser's Persian calendar uses an arithmetic cycle, and we compared it with an astronomical calculation of the equinox and the noon-in-Tehran rule for every Nowruz from 1300 to 1500: they match except 1309, when the equinox fell four minutes after noon. The chart below lists Nowruz for 1300 to 1450 with the length of Esfand.
Afghanistan uses the same solar year with its own month names, Hamal to Hut, so Afghan dates convert correctly when you count the months in order.
