Chinese zodiac year calculator について
Your Chinese zodiac sign is the animal of the lunar year you were born in, and a lunar year starts at Lunar New Year, between 21 January and 20 February. Charts that list only the Western year get January and early February birthdays wrong: someone born on 5 February 2026 is a Snake, because the Year of the Horse began on 17 February. Enter a birth date here and the Chinese lunar card shows the lunar month and day, the zodiac animal and its element, and the year's stem-branch name, 丙午 for 2026.
The twelve animals repeat in order, Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig, while the five elements, Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water, each last two years, so the same animal and element return every 60 years. 2026 is a Fire Horse year; the last one was 1966.
Lunar dates come from the Hong Kong Observatory's conversion tables for 1901 to 2100, not from the browser's own Chinese calendar, which in current Chrome and Node versions puts Chinese New Year 2027 on 7 February instead of 6 February. Korean dates come from the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute, because Korea's lunar calendar runs on Korean time: Seollal 2027 is on 7 February, a day after Chinese New Year.
The chart below lists every year from 1924 to 2043 with its animal, element, stem-branch, Lunar New Year date and, where it differs, Korean Seollal. In Japan the zodiac year is usually counted from 1 January; the Japanese era card shows that version.
