How it works

Every place is shown for the same instant. Offsets and daylight-saving rules come from your browser's built-in time-zone database (the IANA tz data behind Intl), so they match your operating system and update with browser updates.

When you type a time, it is read as wall-clock time in the first (home) location. Times that don't exist because clocks spring forward are moved to the first valid minute after the jump; repeated times when clocks fall back use the first occurrence.

Limits and Pro

Free and unlimited: up to 12 locations at a time, about 460 searchable cities plus every IANA time zone and common abbreviation, and a 24-hour planner with adjustable working hours.

About Time zone converter

See the same moment in up to twelve places at once. The converter opens on the current time where you are, alongside London, New York and Tokyo, with a live clock; type a date and time, or drag the slider, and every other location updates to the matching local time, weekday and date, with "next day" or "previous day" flagged when the line crosses midnight. Each row shows the zone's abbreviation, its UTC offset at that instant and the difference from your first, or home, location.

Add places by searching about 460 major cities in every time zone, by IANA zone name such as Asia/Kolkata, or by abbreviation such as PST, CET or AEST. Rows can be reordered, and moving a city to the top makes it the home location whose clock you type in.

The meeting planner lays the next 24 hours out as a grid, one row per location, with each person's working hours shaded so the slots everyone can make stand out. Pick working hours that suit your team and the calculator lists the windows where all locations overlap; tap any cell to jump to that hour.

Daylight saving is handled from the time-zone rules built into your browser, including the weeks each spring and autumn when Europe and North America change clocks on different dates and the gap between them shrinks by an hour. A notice warns when a change falls within the next 45 days. The copy button produces a plain-text list of the times for an email or chat, and the link reproduces your set of cities.

Privacy

The converter uses your device's clock and the browser's built-in time-zone data; the cities you add and the times you pick are never sent to a server. Your list is saved in the page link and in local storage on this device.

Time zone converter: frequently asked questions

What time is it in London when it is 9 AM in New York?
Usually 2 PM, because London is five hours ahead of New York. For a few weeks a year the gap is four hours: in 2026 the US moves its clocks forward on March 8 but the UK not until March 29, and the UK goes back on October 25, a week before the US on November 1. The converter shows the right gap for any date.
How do I find a meeting time across several time zones?
Add every participant's city, set the working hours your team keeps, and look at the planner for columns shaded in every row; the badge underneath lists those windows. New York, London and Tokyo have no common hour inside 9 to 5, so pick a shoulder slot — in the northern summer 8 AM New York is 1 PM London and 9 PM Tokyo — and rotate who stays late.
Is GMT the same as UTC?
For everyday use, yes: both have a zero offset. UTC is the scientific time standard that clocks are set by, while GMT is the time zone used by the UK, Ireland, Portugal and parts of West Africa in winter. In summer the UK switches to British Summer Time, UTC+1, so London is no longer on GMT even though people often still say so.
Why are some time zones 30 or 45 minutes off the hour?
Countries choose offsets for geographic or political reasons. India uses a single zone, UTC+5:30, across the whole country; Nepal is at UTC+5:45, Newfoundland at UTC−3:30 and New Zealand's Chatham Islands at UTC+12:45. The converter and planner handle these partial-hour offsets and show the minutes in the grid when an hour doesn't line up.
When do the clocks change for daylight saving time?
In the US and Canada, from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November — March 8 and November 1 in 2026. In the EU and UK, from the last Sunday in March to the last Sunday in October — March 29 and October 25 in 2026. Australia's south-east changes on the first Sundays of October and April, while India, China and Japan don't change at all.
