How to use Sign PDF
- 1
Open the document
Drop the PDF you have been asked to sign; a password-protected file asks for its password first.
- 2
Make your signature
Draw it with a mouse, finger or stylus, type your name in one of eight handwriting fonts, or upload a photo of your signature on paper.
- 3
Place it on the page
Click or tap where it belongs, drag to move it and pull a corner to resize. Initials, today's date, a checkmark and free text are placed the same way.
- 4
Download the signed copy
Everything you placed is merged into the pages, and the file is saved with -signed added to its name.

About Sign PDF
The signed PDF is the original document with your marks drawn into its pages. A drawn or uploaded signature is embedded as a transparent PNG image, while typed text, dates and initials are written as real text, so the original pages, fonts and image quality are untouched. Drawn signatures vary their stroke width with pen pressure and speed, which makes them look like ink rather than a uniform line, and photos of a signature on paper have their white or grey background removed automatically.
You can place as many items as you need, on any page, and copy a signature or initials onto every page in one step for agreements that ask for each page to be initialled. Dates use the format you pick and fill in today's date. Signatures you choose to remember are kept in this browser's local storage for next time and can be wiped with one button.
Typical uses are signing a lease, a job offer, a school permission slip, a delivery note or an NDA without printing, signing and scanning it.
What it is not: this creates a simple electronic signature, not a certificate-based digital signature. The PDF isn't cryptographically sealed, so it doesn't prove who signed or reveal later edits, and fillable form fields are not filled in — your signature sits on top of the page. If the recipient requires an advanced or qualified signature, use a provider that issues signing certificates.
Privacy
The PDF, your signature drawing and any photo you upload are processed only in this browser tab, and the signed file is written by a background worker on your device. Signatures you ask to remember stay in this browser's local storage; the handwriting fonts are the only files downloaded, and they carry nothing about you.
Features
Ink-like strokes
Line width follows pen pressure and drawing speed, so a mouse or finger signature looks hand-written.
Typed signatures
Eight script fonts turn your typed name into a signature, loaded only when you open the Type tab.
Photo cleanup
Paper and shadows are made transparent so only the ink of your photographed signature remains.
Every page at once
Duplicate a signature or initials onto all pages in the same spot, and remove the copies together.
Dates and checkmarks
Insert today's date in the format you prefer, tick boxes with a checkmark, or type into a text field.
