About Countdown timer
Name an event, pick its date, time and time zone, and a live countdown shows the days, hours, minutes and seconds remaining, updating every second. Out of the box it counts down to the next New Year at midnight in your own time zone; quick buttons switch to Christmas or a date 100 days from today, and any date from a wedding to a product launch or an exam works the same way.
Because the event is fixed to a real moment in a chosen time zone, everyone sees the correct time left wherever they are: a launch at 9:00 in San Francisco counts down to the same instant for a colleague in Berlin, whose local time for the event is shown under the time-zone picker. Clock changes are handled too — if daylight saving starts before the event, the countdown loses that hour exactly as a wall clock would.
The Full screen button turns the countdown into a large, high-contrast display for a projector, a classroom board or a New Year's Eve party. Copy link creates an address that contains the name, date, time and zone, so sending it to friends opens the identical countdown with no account or app. When the moment passes the timer keeps going and counts the time since the event, which is handy for anniversaries, streaks and "days since" boards.
Two neighbouring modes on the same page count the days between two dates or add and subtract days, weeks, months and business days.
Privacy
The countdown runs entirely in your browser from the clock on your device; the event name and date are not uploaded. They live only in the link you share and in this browser's local storage.
