About Story generator
Every story starts with an idea, and sometimes that's all you have: a girl who finds a map, a robot that's afraid of the dark, a wedding where everything goes wrong. The story generator turns a sentence like that into a complete short story with a title, a beginning that hooks, a middle where something goes wrong or changes, and an ending that resolves it.
Choose the genre (adventure, fantasy, science fiction, mystery, fairy tale, funny, spooky, romance or everyday life), who it's for and how long it should be: about 300, 500 or 800 words. Stories for kids, aimed at ages 5 to 9, use simple words and gentle stakes with nothing more frightening than mild suspense, which makes them good for bedtime reading; teen and adult stories can take on bigger themes, though nothing graphic for teens. Have a narrator tell it, or the main character, speaking as “I”.
Stories are written by Claude, Anthropic's AI model, in the language of your idea unless you choose another, so an idea written in Uzbek gets an Uzbek story. The model is told to write its own prose rather than reproduce existing books, though familiar fairy-tale patterns will appear.
Use the stories for reading aloud, creative writing prompts, language practice or getting past writer's block. If you publish one, some platforms and competitions ask you to disclose AI-written text, and read it first: AI sometimes loses track of a detail between paragraphs.
Privacy
Your story idea and the genre, audience, length and narrator you picked are sent to our server and on to Anthropic's API when you press Write story, and the finished story comes straight back to this page. Neither the idea nor the story is kept on our side or written to logs, and Anthropic doesn't train on it. This browser remembers your choices, not your text.
