A model essay shows how a thesis, paragraphs and a counter-argument fit together, and gives you a draft to rewrite in your own words. Submitting AI-written work as your own breaks the rules of most schools and universities, so check your course's policy. The essay cites no real sources: each [placeholder] marks evidence you need to find and reference yourself.

About Essay writer

Reading a complete essay on your own topic is one of the fastest ways to see how a good one is built: where the thesis sits, how each paragraph earns its place, how a counter-argument gets answered. The essay writer produces a model essay from your topic and, if you like, from your own points. Pick one of six types (argumentative, expository, persuasive, compare and contrast, narrative or descriptive), a length of about 300, 500 or 800 words, and a level from middle school to university, which changes the vocabulary and how carefully claims are qualified.

The essay is written by Claude, Anthropic's AI model, with a title, an introduction ending in a thesis, body paragraphs and a conclusion. It contains no invented sources. Where a statistic, a study or a quotation would strengthen the argument, a highlighted placeholder such as [evidence: …] or [source] tells you what to look up.

Be honest about how you use it. A model essay is good for studying structure, brainstorming arguments, checking you've covered both sides, or drafting before you rewrite everything in your own words. Handing it in as your own work breaks the rules at most schools and universities, and teachers can often tell. Check your course's policy on AI.

The writer can't read your assignment sheet, your textbook or your teacher's marking criteria, and general knowledge in the essay can still be wrong, so verify every claim before relying on it.

Privacy

Only your topic, your optional points and the options you chose are sent, and only when you press Write essay: they go to our server and to Anthropic's API, which writes the essay and returns it to this page. We don't save the topic or the essay or put them in logs, and Anthropic doesn't use API requests to train its models. Your choices of type, length and level stay in this browser.

Essay writer: frequently asked questions

Is it cheating to use an AI essay writer?
It depends on how you use it and on your school's rules. Studying a model essay, brainstorming or checking your structure is usually fine; submitting AI-written text as your own almost never is, and it can lead to a failing grade or worse. Read your course's AI policy, and if you use the essay at all, say so where your teacher asks.
Does the essay include real sources and citations?
No, and that's deliberate. AI models can invent convincing-looking references that don't exist, so the essay writer is told never to make up studies, statistics, quotations or citations. Instead it leaves placeholders like [source] or [evidence: …] where support is needed. Find real sources in your library or a database, then format them with our citation generator.
How long can the essay be?
You can choose about 300, 500 or 800 words, and the result usually lands within ten percent of that. An 800-word essay takes a little longer, often 20 to 45 seconds. For a longer assignment, generate the 800-word version to see a structure, then expand each section yourself with your own research, examples and sources.
What changes between middle school, high school and university?
Vocabulary, sentence length and how the argument is handled. Middle school uses clear, simple sentences and everyday words. High school adds varied sentences and well-organised paragraphs. University uses an academic register and precise terms, and qualifies claims carefully instead of overstating them. Pick the level you're writing at so the model essay is useful to learn from.
Can teachers or AI detectors tell an essay was written by AI?
Teachers often can, from a voice that doesn't match yours or from generic arguments. AI detectors are unreliable in both directions and wrongly flag genuine student writing too, which is why we offer neither a detector nor a tool to get past one. The honest route is also the safe one: use the essay to learn, then write your own.
