About Social media image resizer

Social media image resizer turns one picture into the exact pixel sizes that Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest, Threads, Snapchat and Mastodon expect, plus the 1200 × 630 Open Graph image that link previews use. The list was checked against the platforms' own help pages on 20 October 2026. Threads publishes no recommended size, so the tool offers the 4:5 portrait format most accounts use and says so next to it.

Crop mode fills the frame and trims what doesn't fit. You set one focus point by dragging the frame over the source image, and every selected size is cut around that same point, so a face stays in shot from a wide YouTube banner to a tall story. Zoom tightens the crop. Fit modes keep the entire picture and fill the leftover space with a soft blurred copy of it or a solid color, which suits logos and screenshots that must not be trimmed. Dashed guides mark the YouTube banner's area that shows on every device and the part of a Facebook cover that phones display.

Resizing uses Lanczos resampling, and JPG and WebP files are encoded with adjustable quality; PNG stays lossless. If a size is larger than your original, a notice warns that the image will be enlarged and may look soft. The tool doesn't post to your accounts, add text or stickers, or edit video covers frame by frame.

Privacy

Your image is decoded, cropped, resized and encoded in this browser tab, and the files are saved straight to your device; nothing is uploaded. Only your chosen sizes, fit mode and format are remembered in this browser's storage for your next visit.

Social media image resizer: frequently asked questions

What size should an Instagram post be?
Instagram shows posts 1080 pixels wide. Use 1080 × 1350 for portrait posts, which take up the most room in the feed, 1080 × 1080 for squares and 1080 × 566 for landscape. Since 2025 the profile grid shows 3:4 thumbnails, so a 1080 × 1440 version keeps the whole picture visible there. Stories and Reels covers are 1080 × 1920.
How do I keep a face or logo from being cut off when cropping?
Choose Crop, preview the narrowest size you selected, then drag the frame so the face or logo sits in the middle. All other sizes use the same focus point. If something important still gets trimmed on very wide or very tall formats, switch that export to Blur fill or Color fill, which keeps the entire picture.
What is the YouTube channel banner safe area?
A banner is uploaded at 2560 × 1440 pixels, but phones show only a central strip. YouTube guarantees that a 1546 × 423 area in the middle appears everywhere, which is the box drawn with a dashed line in the preview. Keep text, faces and logos inside it, and use the rest for background that can be cropped on smaller screens.
Should I export social images as JPG, PNG or WebP?
JPG at quality 80 to 90 is the safe choice for photos: every platform accepts it and files stay small. PNG suits graphics with text, flat colors or transparency, though most networks convert it anyway. WebP gives smaller files at similar quality and works on most sites and in Open Graph previews, but some upload forms still reject it.
Why does my image look blurry after uploading?
Platforms recompress uploads, and they enlarge images that are smaller than the display size, which softens them. Start from a picture at least as large as the size you export; the tool warns when it has to enlarge. Uploading exactly the recommended pixel dimensions also stops the network from resizing a second time, which keeps edges sharper.
