MP4 to MP3の使い方

  1. 1

    Add the MP4 files

Drop up to 3 MP4 videos (M4V, MOV and other videos work too) of up to 500 MB and 10 minutes each.

  2. 2

    Choose the MP3 quality

192 kbps constant bitrate is preselected; go up to 320 kbps or VBR V0 for music, down to 96 or 64 kbps for speech.

  3. 3

Fix the tags if you like

The pencil button lets you set the title and artist that music players show; they are taken from the video when it has them.

  4. 4

    Extract as MP3

Each video becomes name.mp3; download them one by one or as audio-mp3.zip.

制限と Pro

Up to 3 MP4 files per batch, each up to 500 MB and 10 minutes long.

Pro converts batches of up to 500 videos of up to 4 GB and 10 hours each. Pro を見る

MP4 to MP3 について

MP4 to MP3 keeps only the sound of a video and saves it as an MP3, the audio format every phone, car stereo, smart speaker and old music player can play. An MP4 from a phone, a camera, Zoom or a social network almost always carries AAC audio; MP3 is a different codec, so the AAC stream is decoded and compressed again with the LAME encoder. That re-encode is quick — a few seconds per minute of video on most computers — and at the default 192 kbps the difference from the original is very hard to hear.

Bitrate is the main choice. 320 kbps gives the most headroom for music, 192 kbps is the usual balance, 128 kbps is fine for podcasts and lessons and 64 kbps mono is enough for a voice. Variable bitrate (V0 to V6) spends more data on complex passages and less on silence, giving smaller files for the same quality. The sample rate is kept unless you change it, and stereo stays stereo unless you choose mono.

Typical uses are saving a song from a video you made, turning a recorded lecture, sermon or interview into a podcast-style file, or getting audio for a ringtone. If the target device plays M4A, the Original option gives the untouched AAC sound with no re-encode at all. Videos with DRM, such as purchased films, can't be converted.

プライバシー

Your MP4 is decoded and the MP3 encoded in this tab, through WebCodecs with a WebAssembly LAME encoder served from this site, or through ffmpeg.wasm in a Web Worker for VBR and unusual files. No video or audio leaves your device.

MP4 to MP3:よくある質問

What bitrate should I choose for MP4 to MP3?
For music, 192 kbps or VBR V2 sounds the same as the source to almost everyone; 320 kbps or V0 adds a safety margin for high-quality originals. For speech such as lectures and interviews, 128 kbps is plenty and 64 kbps in mono still sounds clear. Picking a bitrate higher than the video's own audio doesn't improve anything; it only makes the file bigger.
Is the MP3 the same quality as the sound in my video?
Nearly, but not exactly. The video's audio is usually AAC, and turning it into MP3 means decoding and compressing it again, which always loses a little detail. At 192 kbps and above you are unlikely to hear it. If you need the sound with no loss at all, choose Original instead of MP3 and you get the AAC stream untouched in an M4A file.
How big will the MP3 be?
Size depends only on the bitrate and the length, not on the video's resolution. At 192 kbps an MP3 takes about 1.4 MB per minute, so a 4-minute song is around 5.8 MB and a 10-minute talk about 14 MB. At 128 kbps it is about 0.96 MB per minute, and at 320 kbps about 2.4 MB. Mono halves nothing on its own; lower the bitrate too.
Can I convert several MP4 videos to MP3 at once?
Yes, drop up to three videos on the free plan and they are converted one after another with the same settings. Each gets its own name with an .mp3 extension, and identical names are numbered so nothing is overwritten. When they are finished, Download all saves a single ZIP. Pro raises the batch to 500 files.
Does the MP3 keep the song title and artist?
Yes, when the MP4 has them: title and artist tags are copied into the MP3's ID3 tags, which music apps and car stereos display. Most phone videos have no such tags, so open the pencil menu on a file to type a title and artist before converting.
