MP4 to WAVの使い方

  1. 1

    Drop the MP4

Add up to 3 MP4 videos (or MOV, MKV, WebM) of up to 500 MB and 10 minutes each.

  2. 2

Set the sample rate and channels

Keep the original sample rate for editing, or choose 48 kHz for video work, 44.1 kHz for a CD master, 16 kHz mono for speech recognition.

  3. 3

Normalize if the level is low

Switch on Normalize loudness to bring quiet recordings to −16 LUFS before you edit them.

  4. 4

    Extract as WAV

Download name.wav, uncompressed 16-bit PCM that opens in Audacity, Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, Logic and FL Studio.

制限と Pro

Up to 3 MP4 videos per batch, each up to 500 MB and 10 minutes long.

Pro extracts WAV from batches of up to 500 videos of up to 4 GB and 10 hours each. Pro を見る

MP4 to WAV について

MP4 to WAV pulls the soundtrack out of a video and stores it as uncompressed 16-bit PCM in a WAV file. The audio in an MP4 is compressed, almost always AAC, so it is decoded once and written out sample by sample; nothing is compressed again, so the WAV holds exactly what the AAC decoder produces and no further loss is added. That makes it the right starting point for editing: cutting dialogue, cleaning noise, syncing sound to another camera, sampling a beat or feeding a speech-to-text or subtitle service that wants raw audio.

WAV files are large because nothing is thrown away: about 10 MB per minute for 44.1 kHz stereo and about 11 MB for 48 kHz, the usual rate of phone and camera video. A 10-minute clip therefore becomes roughly 100–110 MB of audio, far more than the MP4's soundtrack. Choosing mono halves that, and 16 kHz mono, all that speech recognition needs, is under 2 MB per minute.

The WAV can't sound better than the compressed audio it came from; it is simply easier for editing software to work with. Output is always 16-bit, which every editor accepts; there is no 24-bit or 32-bit float option. A WAV file can't exceed 4 GB, about six hours of 48 kHz stereo, which only matters for very long Pro jobs. If you only need to listen to the audio, Original or MP3 gives a much smaller file.

The MP4 is read and its audio decoded in this browser tab with WebCodecs through mediabunny, or with ffmpeg.wasm in a Web Worker for codecs the browser can't decode. The WAV is assembled in memory on your device; nothing is uploaded.

MP4 to WAV:よくある質問

Is MP4 to WAV lossless?
The step from MP4 to WAV adds no loss: the compressed audio is decoded and stored as plain PCM samples, with no new compression. But the soundtrack in the MP4 was already compressed when the video was recorded, usually as AAC, and that earlier loss can't be undone. So the WAV is an exact, uncompressed copy of what the video's audio sounds like, not better than it.
Why is the WAV file so much bigger than the MP4?
Because WAV stores every sample without compression. AAC in a phone video uses around 128 to 256 kbps, while 48 kHz stereo 16-bit PCM needs 1,536 kbps, six to twelve times more. A five-minute video can produce a 55 MB WAV. If size matters, switch to mono, lower the sample rate for speech, or choose FLAC, which is lossless and about half the size.
What sample rate should I pick?
Keep Original if you are going to edit the audio alongside the video; phone and camera footage is normally 48 kHz, and changing it can cause sync drift in some editors. Pick 44.1 kHz when the audio is going on a CD or into a music project at that rate. For transcription and voice assistants, 16 kHz mono is the standard and makes files much smaller.
Can I use the WAV in Audacity, Premiere or DaVinci Resolve?
Yes. The file is a standard RIFF WAV with 16-bit little-endian PCM, the most widely supported audio format there is. It imports into Audacity, Adobe Premiere and Audition, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut, Logic, GarageBand, Reaper, FL Studio and Ableton without conversion, and into speech-to-text services that ask for WAV uploads.
Can I get only part of the video's sound as WAV?
This page always extracts the whole soundtrack. To keep only a section, extract the WAV first and then trim it on a waveform with the Audio cutter, which can save the result as WAV again. Alternatively, cut the video with the Video trimmer before extracting, which is quicker for very long recordings because less audio has to be decoded.
