Rotate PDF pages

Turn sideways or upside-down PDF pages the right way up, one page at a time or all together, and save the fixed file; rotation runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.

Rotate PDFの使い方

  1. 1

    Choose the PDF

Pick the PDF with the sideways pages; files of up to 50 MB and 200 pages open for free. The thumbnails show every page the way a reader displays it now.

  2. 2

    Turn the pages

Each page has its own rotate-left and rotate-right buttons. Select several to turn them together, or use Rotate every page for the whole file.

  3. 3

    Check the angles

A small badge under a page shows its change, such as 90° or 180°. Ctrl+Z reverses the last turn.

  4. 4

    Save the rotated PDF

Press Save rotated PDF and download name-rotated.pdf with every page facing the right way.

Rotate PDF について

Rotate PDF fixes pages that open sideways or upside down and saves the correction into the file, so it looks right in every reader, on every phone and when printed. That is different from the rotate-view button in a PDF reader, which only turns the page on your screen until you close it.

A PDF page has a rotation setting of 0, 90, 180 or 270 degrees, and this tool changes exactly that setting. Because the page content itself isn't touched, the result is lossless: text stays sharp and searchable, scanned images keep every pixel and the file size barely moves. Pages already carrying a rotation are turned relative to how they look now, so what you see on the thumbnails is what you get.

Typical cases are a landscape table in a portrait report, phone scans saved the wrong way round, and double-sided scans where every second sheet comes out upside down; for those, press Even and then 180° in the selected-pages panel. The same screen can also delete or reorder pages if the scan needs more tidying. Rotation works in quarter turns only: a page that was scanned slightly crooked can't be straightened here, and the angle of individual pictures or text on a page can't be changed.

プライバシー

Rotation is applied by pdf-lib in a background worker of this browser tab, and the page previews are rendered by PDF.js on your device, so the document is never sent to a server. Encrypted files are decrypted locally with the password you type, using the qpdf WebAssembly engine that loads only for such files.

Rotate PDF:よくある質問

How do I rotate only one page of a PDF?
Open the file and press the rotate button on that page's thumbnail: the arrow pointing right turns it 90° clockwise, the one pointing left turns it counter-clockwise, and pressing twice turns it upside down. The other pages are left as they are. Press Save rotated PDF and the downloaded copy keeps that single page turned.
Will the rotation stay when I open the file elsewhere?
Yes. The new angle is written into the page's rotation setting inside the PDF, so Acrobat, Preview, Chrome, phone viewers and printers all show it the same way. This is the difference from the rotate-view command in many readers, which only changes your current view and is forgotten as soon as the file is closed.
Can I straighten a scan that is slightly tilted?
No. PDF pages can only be turned in steps of 90 degrees without redrawing them, and this tool never redraws a page, so it can't correct a scan that is a few degrees off. Re-scan the sheet with the page pushed against the scanner's edge, or use scanning software with an automatic deskew option.
How do I fix a scan where every second page is upside down?
This happens when a double-sided document is scanned by flipping the stack. Press Even above the thumbnails to select pages 2, 4, 6 and so on, then press 180° in the selected-pages panel. Check a few thumbnails, and if the odd pages were the wrong ones instead, press Invert before rotating.
Does rotating a PDF make it bigger or blurrier?
Neither. Only a small number in each page's settings changes, so images aren't recompressed, text isn't converted into pictures and the size of the new file stays almost the same as the original. Searching, copying text and clicking links keep working exactly as they did before you rotated the pages.
