Add page numbers について

Add page numbers prints a running number on the pages of a PDF, the way a word processor fills a footer, but after the fact, when all you have is the finished file. Pick one of six spots along the top or bottom edge; the number is placed relative to the page as readers show it, so rotated or cropped pages get it in the right corner too.

The format can be a bare number, Page 1, Page 1 of 12, 1 / 12, the dashed - 1 - style or any text you type with {n} for the number and {total} for the last one, such as Exhibit A – {n}. Lower- or upper-case Roman numerals suit front matter. You can start counting at any number, for instance 37 when the file continues a longer report, and skip a cover or a title page so the first numbered page reads 1. For double-sided printing, Alternate sides on facing pages puts the numbers on the outer edges.

Numbers are written as real PDF text in Helvetica, Times or Courier, so they print sharply and can be searched. When the text contains letters those fonts lack, such as Cyrillic or the Uzbek oʻ and gʻ, a matching open font is embedded instead. Everything else in the file, including bookmarks, links and form fields, stays as it was. The tool doesn't look for numbers that are already printed, so it can't remove or replace an old sequence.

プライバシー

Your PDF is read and stamped inside this browser tab: PDF.js draws the preview and pdf-lib adds the numbers in a Web Worker, so the document is never uploaded. The only network request is for a font file from jsDelivr when your text needs characters beyond Western European letters, and it carries no part of your document.

Add page numbers:よくある質問

How do I add page numbers to a PDF?
Drop the file on this page, choose a position such as bottom centre and a format such as Page 1 of 12, and check the preview. Press Add page numbers and download the numbered copy a few seconds later. You don't need Acrobat, an account or any installed software, and the original file isn't changed.
How do I start numbering on page 2 or 3?
Set Skip first to the number of pages that should stay unnumbered, for example 1 for a cover or 2 for a cover and a contents page. Numbering then begins on the next page with the value in First number, usually 1. If the cover should count without showing its number, skip 1 page and set First number to 2.
Can I write Page 1 of 10 or add my own words?
Yes. Page 1 of N is one of the built-in formats, and Custom text accepts up to 120 characters with {n} where the number goes and {total} for the last number, such as Report 2026 · {n}/{total}. The text is set on one line in the font, size and colour you choose, at the position picked above.
Will the numbers cover my text?
They are drawn on top of the page at the distance from the edge you set, 10 mm by default. If a document already has something in that area, such as a printed footer, move the number to the other edge, make it smaller or increase the distance. The preview can step through every page, so check the ones with full-page pictures before saving.
Do page numbers work with Cyrillic or Uzbek text?
Yes. When your text uses letters outside the Western European set, such as Russian Страница or the Uzbek oʻ and gʻ, the tool downloads the open-source Arimo, Tinos or Cousine font, which match Helvetica, Times and Courier in width, and embeds only the characters it needs. Chinese, Japanese and Korean characters are set in a Noto Sans font.
