Resize image to 50 KBの使い方

  1. 1

    Choose the picture

Pick a photo, screenshot or scanned page in JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC format from your computer or phone.

  2. 2

    Trim the edges

Move the crop box in to drop empty table, floor or margin around the subject; you can also rotate a sideways scan.

  3. 3

    Set the limits

The maximum is 50 KB. If the form says something like 20–50 KB, type 20 as the minimum; add a width and height only if it requires exact pixels.

  4. 4

    Save the JPEG

When the checklist shows the KB inside your range, download the file; the name ends in -50kb.jpg.

Resize image to 50 KB について

Fifty kilobytes is the cap on many photo fields, from bank and railway recruitment to university admission forms, and on plenty of document uploads such as a scanned ID card or a caste certificate saved as an image. At 50 KB a portrait can stay reasonably sharp at several hundred pixels across, so the aim here is to keep as much resolution as the limit allows rather than shrinking blindly.

The page encodes your crop as a baseline JPEG at decreasing qualities until it is under the limit. If even quality 60 is too big, it reduces the width and height together and tries again, so the picture keeps its shape. When the form also has a minimum, say 20 KB, the search stops inside that window; a very plain image that stays below the minimum even at full quality is reported as such instead of being padded with junk bytes. Optionally, type a DPI and it is written into the file, for forms that check it.

The result card shows the chosen pixel size, the size in KB using 1,024-byte kilobytes, and the exact byte count, which stays under 50,000 so forms counting 1,000-byte kilobytes accept it as well. The file has no EXIF data, so the camera model and GPS position in the original are not passed on.

It doesn't make PDFs, and it can't make text in a blurry scan readable again; rescanning at a higher resolution is the fix there.

Everything happens on your device: the browser decodes the picture, a WebAssembly resampler scales it and a Web Worker runs the MozJPEG encoder for each size attempt. No upload takes place and nothing is kept after you close the tab, except the limits you typed, which local storage remembers. HEIC photos fetch the libheif decoder from jsDelivr, a request that contains no image data.

Resize image to 50 KB:よくある質問

How do I make a photo between 20 KB and 50 KB?
Type 20 in the Min KB box and keep 50 as the maximum. The search then looks for the best quality whose file lands inside that window. If the picture is so plain that even full quality stays under 20 KB, the result card says so and offers the closest file; using a less tightly cropped or more detailed original usually fixes it.
Does compressing to 50 KB change the pixel size?
Only if it must. A 50 KB JPEG can hold a few hundred thousand pixels at decent quality, so most crops keep their full resolution and just get a lower quality setting. Larger crops are scaled down, keeping the proportions, until the quality can stay at 60 or more. Typing a width and height fixes the size instead.
Can I compress a scanned document image to 50 KB?
Yes. Crop to the page edges, rotate it upright, and the text usually stays legible at 50 KB for an A4 page around 1,000 pixels wide. Black text on a white page compresses far better than a photo, so even dense pages tend to fit. If letters turn fuzzy, crop tighter rather than accepting a smaller pixel size.
Which format will the file be in?
A standard baseline JPEG with the .jpg extension, the format almost every upload form accepts. PNG, WebP and HEIC inputs are converted, and any transparent areas become white. If your form asks specifically for PNG or PDF, convert the result afterwards, keeping in mind that a PNG of a photo is usually several times larger than the JPEG.
Is 50 KB measured the same way as on my computer?
Windows and this tool both count 1 KB as 1,024 bytes, so a file shown here as 48.8 KB appears as about 49 KB in Explorer. macOS and Android count 1,000 bytes per KB and show slightly bigger numbers. Every file made on this page stays under 50,000 bytes, so it is under 50 KB on all of them.
